Why Choose plant medicine?

  • A balanced approach using herbs that match your energetic and physical constitution, with emphasis on your body’s natural capacity for self-repair (under normal conditions).

  • The sum is greater than its parts.        Minimally processed high quality plant parts (flowers, leaves, stems, roots, resin) are transformed into medicine in the form of teas, tinctures, oxymels, syrups, flower essences, topicals (salves and liniments) etc.

  • Whole-body-whole-person approach to finding and treating the root cause of disease, and not just the symptoms.

  • Gentle yet effective remedies with low to no side effects when used under a herbalists suggestions (please disclose all pharmaceutical and medications to the herbalist).

  • Autonomy to self-educate, learn more about your body, and what works best for your health and healing process.

  • Personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique and complex nature.

common consult FAQs

Find more FAQs in the About – FAQ’s section (i.e., What is herbal medicine?).

  • If you are ready to work together, simply book your first free exploratory or initial consult online using the booking button above. Once I receive your booking, there are two forms, that I will send to you (via Carepatron). These forms will need to be completed and submitted to me (or brought with you) prior to the initial consult. They are the:

    1.     Consent Form

    2.     Client Intake Form

    3.     Please also review policies.

    • Consultations take place in a safe, and confidential space, virtually, or in-person.

    • Consent and initial intake forms must be completed before the first session.

    • In the first session, we’ll discuss your main concerns, explore root causes, underlying patterns, and symptoms, which will help us determine the right course of treatment.

    • Treatment protocols will be provided in written format, and include a combination of custom herbal formulations, supplements, nutritional and life-style advice, and other wellness recommendations.

    • At your request, custom herbal remedies will be created and dispensed for you in-house. Herbs will typically be dispensed in 2 to 4 week quantities, and can be picked-up or shipped to you, following the consult.

    • A follow-up consult is highly recommended within 4 weeks from the initial consult. It allows us to discuss progress, set-backs, compliance, issues with taking the formulations, formula adjustments, and any new or other health concerns.

    • In subsequent follow-up consults, we may go deeper with your health concerns and goals.

    • Throughout our work together, and if you are open to it, I may offer other suggestions (or referrals) to deepen your connection to nature and to the Self. These may be referrals to other practitioners or forms of practice, including breathwork, mindful meditation, water therapy, plant spirit meditation, gardening, and shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), art or music therapy, psychedelic therapy, yoga, reiki, or other.

    • Any relevant lab test results.

    • A list of your pharmaceutical medications, including dosage.

    • A list of nutritional supplements or herbal medicine, including dosage.

    • A list of any questions that you may have.

    • A food diary (if you keep one).

    • A friend, family member, or pet for moral support (if needed).

    • For follow-ups, you may wish to return any empty herbal medicine bottles.

  • Yes, I offer a student and senior discount of 15% on the cost of the consultation fee. A friends and family discount is also available.

Herbal bundles, though they are more expensive, offer a chance for us to work together over a period of 3 months (3 sessions) at an ~25% discounted rate.

All other clients, please inform me of any financial barriers. A sliding-scale may be presented to you.

I am open to bartering or exchange of wellness services of equivalent value.

  • No. Unfortunately, the consultation fee does not include the cost of herbs. While I endeavour to keep the cost of herbal remedies as low as possible for clients, it is currently difficult to subsidize this offer, due to the price and quality of the herbs we order for clients. For now, some of my formulas are dispensed by other local apothecaries that set their own fees. This may change as I build-up my own apothecary.

My herbal bundle is priced at a total discounted rate, and includes one free herbal formula, and two (15%) discounted formulas.

  • No. You may request a refill of your custom herbal formulation at any time after the initial consult. Just send me an email or give me a call or text. A first follow-up is highly recommended, to see if there are any changes or issues.

  • After our initial consult, we have engaged in a working relationship. You are welcome to send me your first 3-4 questions/inquiries, either by email or phone, for free. Subsequent or extensive health-related questions may require a follow-up visit. Emergency situations are an exception. If you have an adverse reactions to the herbs, please get in touch with me, or a medical professional, immediately.

  • Herbal medicine is ‘slow medicine’ and protocols take time. Patience is needed, and most clients will need to follow a herbal protocol for a period of three to six months, depending on the nature of the imbalance. In some cases, changes may become evident as early as two weeks. It is recommended that you come back for a reassessment within 4 weeks. If you experience allergies or adverse reactions, please get in touch as soon as possible.

  • Please see the terms, policies, and disclaimer page.

  • Herbal Medicine and the services of a death doula are not covered by BC provincial health coverage or MSP, or by most employer-sponsored Extended Health Benefit plans. However, costs may be eligible for reimbursement through a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA), Health Spending Account (HSA) or Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA). Please check with your employer to see if herbal medicine, holistic nutrition, and end-of-life doula consultations are covered by your plan.

Herb Orders

How it works…

  1. You will receive a herbal protocol with herbal formulation recommendations, and supplement suggestions, after our 1:1 consultation. However, you are not obligated to purchase any herbal formulations from us. Herbal formulations costs are separate from the consultation fees.

  2. If interested, the Herbalist will send a final quote (+ tax + shipping if applicable) to you, for review and confirmation prior dispensing. Let us know the remedy and quantities (2 weeks or 4 week supply) desired.

  3. Once orders are dispensed and ready for pick-up or delivery, payment can be made through e-transfer (interact via email), or by cash. Please let us know if you prefer to use debit or credit cards, transaction fees will apply.

  4. Orders may be picked-up (location TBD) or sent via Canada Post (+ shipping) directly from the dispensary to your home.
